EUROPEAN UNION DEFORESTATION REGULATION
Klabin has structured its processes to comply with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), strengthening transparency and traceability throughout its supply chain.
The EUDR requires companies exporting wood-derived products to the European Union to demonstrate that their raw materials are not associated with deforestation or forest degradation. Klabin already meets these requirements by sourcing wood exclusively from pine and eucalyptus forests cultivated specifically for pulp and paper production, all certified by internationally recognized organizations.
HOW WE TRACE OUR OPERATION: FROM FOREST TO FINISHED PRODUCT
WHERE OUR FORESTS ARE
Klabin’s industrial units source wood exclusively from planted pine and eucalyptus forests. These species are not included in the list of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
All wood used in our production process is either certified or comes from controlled sources, which are regularly audited by globally recognized independent organizations, such as FSC® and PEFC.
In addition, the Company’s forests are located in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo, areas far from the Amazon biome.
