For the second consecutive year, Klabin is honored at the Atitude Cidadã event in Santa Catarina
The recognition once again validates the Company’s strategy in Itajaí to help build a more sustainable city with less waste
The recognition took place during an event held at the Casa de Cultura Municipal by Coletivo Itajaí Lixo Zero (Itajaí Zero Waste Collective)
Itajaí (SC), May 13, 2026 – Klabin was recognized, for the second consecutive year, in the “Private Institution" category at the Atitude Cidadã event. The ceremony was held at Casa da Cultura Dide Brandão and is organized annually by the Itajaí Zero Waste Collective, which recognizes people and institutions committed to actions in favor of a more sustainable city. The event honored 30 individuals and organizations that are leading the transformation of Itajaí (SC) toward a Zero Waste city. The activity is part of the Collective’s Educational Calendar, which, in addition to Atitude Cidadã, will organize six more major actions throughout the year in the city.
In this edition, the Company was recognized for the progress achieved over the past year in waste management, environmental education, and community engagement. This distinction reinforces the role of Klabin’s corrugated packaging unit in Itajaí as a hub of best practices, dedicated to promoting social and environmental citizenship and driving real change in the region.
“This consecutive recognition demonstrates the maturity of our work in Itajaí. Through the Klabin Sustainable Development Goals (KODS), we transform global goals into local benefits, integrating our industrial operations with the well-being of the population,” says Pedro Paulo da Luz, Industrial Manager at Klabin.
By strengthening social and environmental projects and optimizing its production processes, Klabin reaffirms its long-term commitment to preserving resources and supporting Itajaí’s transition to a fully sustainable development model.
