Klabin fortalece compromisso ambiental e se torna TNFD Adopter
This initiative reinforces leadership in sustainability and increases the transparency of disclosures concerning biodiversity, soil, water, and climate
São Paulo, December 23, 2025 – Klabin has taken another important step in its path toward transparency and environmental responsibility by officially becoming a TNFD Adopter, joining the global group of organizations committed to the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The combination of nature-related disclosure initiatives, aligned with the recommendations of the TNFD, marks a new chapter in the integration of Klabin’s business strategy with the management of environmental assets and ecosystem services.
By adopting the TNFD recommendations, the company further strengthens its structure for managing nature-related financial risks and opportunities—including those associated with biodiversity, land use, water resources, and climate change—thereby enhancing its decision-making capabilities and fostering sustainable value creation. "Embracing the TNFD recommendations reinforces Klabin’s essence, as the company has incorporated nature into its business strategy since its founding. The initiatives taken to comply with these guidelines demonstrate this alignment, connecting our history of conservation and responsible management with the modern management of risks and opportunities related to biodiversity,” says Julio Nogueira, Sustainability and Environment Manager at Klabin.
Since 2020, the Company has been a TCFD Supporter, demonstrating leadership in the climate agenda. Now, as a TNFD Adopter, Klabin reinforces its leadership by staying ahead of global best practices and contributing to the collective advancement of the private sector through the formalization of its commitment.
From conservation to transition
Klabin has advanced in internalizing the TNFD recommendations, developed a biodiversity management database, and begun creating positive impact indicators—a journey that connects its conservation agenda to strategic planning and investment decisions. Global connections for biodiversity
Klabin’s journey was highlighted during the 16th United Nations Conference on Biodiversity, held in Cali, Colombia. At the event, the Company presented the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Conservation Plan, which served as the technical and conceptual basis for meeting the recommendations of the TNFD.
Among the shared learnings are the implementation of the TNFD methodology and the Ecosystem Services Certification, achieved in 2021 for the work conducted at Fazenda das Nascentes, located in the Natural Heritage Private Reserve (RPPN) Serra da Farofa (SC), which verified the positive impact of three simultaneous Ecosystem Services: Biodiversity Conservation (ES1), Carbon Sequestration and Storage (ES2) and Watershed Services (ES3). The Company also highlighted its Sustainable Finance case, emphasizing the relevance of biodiversity indicators in structuring strategies and issuing nature-linked bonds.
