Klabin Conducts Maintenance Shutdown at Correia Pinto Unit

In compliance with industry regulations, the Company is hiring over 1,300 professionals to support maintenance activities taking place from December 2 to 10

Santa Catarina, November 27, 2025 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper, a leader in corrugated packaging, and a benchmark in short-fiber, long-fiber, and fluff market pulp, will carry out a maintenance shutdown at its Correia Pinto unit, in Santa Catarina, from December 2 to 10, 2025. This initiative aims to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of equipment, ensuring operational safety and protecting our employees and the local community.

Maintenance shutdowns take place every 15 months, in compliance with Regulatory Standard NR13 for companies working with pressure vessels, such as boilers and digesters. During the nine days, the operations at the mill are suspended for preventive maintenance of equipment and improvements to the industrial structure, such as technological upgrades and other initiatives to increase productivity.

In total, Klabin’s Correia Pinto unit will have more than 1,300 employees hired for maintenance activities, in addition to 86 service scopes. The number of temporary workers requires logistics and infrastructure, in addition to driving and stimulating the region's economy.

"Klabin plans the maintenance stages based on project management best practices, focusing on safety, integration and quality of the production processes at the manufacturing units. We need to ensure that the maintenance shutdown is done quickly and efficiently. Health and safety protocols are strictly followed, ensuring the protection of our employees and contractors during the work routine," said Alessandro Trentin, industrial manager of the Correia Pinto unit.

One of Klabin's main concerns in the period, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, is to keep the community involved and informed about the maintenance shutdown, so that everyone feels safe about the changes in the city and ready for the potential opportunities linked to the reception of these workers.
