Telêmaco Borba, March 19, 2025 - For the second consecutive year, Klabin is conducting an initiative to encourage recycling during Expo Telêmaco 2025. The initiative is promoted through the Klabin Transforms Circular Territory program, in partnership with Ambipar, Cooperative of Environmental Agents (ReciclaTB), and the Municipal Government of Telêmaco Borba. Large bags will be placed throughout the party area for the disposal of recyclable waste, which will be collected by Recicla TB. After being weighed, the waste will be sent to the Feira do Bem, a program by the Telêmaco Borba Municipal Government that exchanges waste for food  preferably produced by local farmers – also supported by the Klabin Transforms Social Forests Program. For every three kilos of recyclable waste collected at the party, the municipality's charitable associations will receive one kilo of fruits and vegetables.

Expo Telêmaco, held from March 18 to 23, takes place at the Mieceslau Malinowski Events Center. Last year, about 1.5 metric tons of recyclable waste were collected, resulting in 500 kilograms of food to be donated alongside the contributions from this year's initiative. "The initiative was a success in 2024 and we decided to repeat it this year. Through this initiative, we were able to unite two major Klabin programs, recycling and strengthening family farming, and we contributed to the social and environmental development of the region,” says Uilson Paiva, manager responsible for the Klabin Transforms Circular Territory Program.

Interactive Booth

Klabin features an interactive booth designed to showcase its entire production process to visitors through an immersive 3D experience, guiding them through its environments, from the forest to the industry, all the way to the products reaching the homes of millions of people. The space also enables participants to learn about social development and environmental responsibility projects carried out by the Company, as well as improvements in road infrastructure works in the regions where it operates.

The company's booth at the event also features a tunnel, with a floor texture that imitates asphalt, forests along the route, and traffic signs indicating the works being carried out by Klabin in partnership with the Government of the State of Paraná, in the regions of Telêmaco Borba, Ortigueira, and Imbaú.

Indigenous people supported by the Indigenous Basic Environmental Plan (PBAI) also participate in the event
Near the Klabin area, there is a booth with representatives from the two Indigenous Lands of Ortigueira, Tibagy-Mococa and Queimadas, which are supported by the Indigenous Basic Environmental Plan (PBAI) developed by the company. The Indigenous people of the kaingang ethnicity showcase their traditional crafts in items such as baskets, lampshades, and ornaments. "It is an excellent opportunity for the community to have contact with the culture of our traditional peoples," reinforces Paiva.
