Further strengthening its citizenship, Klabin’s actions support Covid-19 treatment in the Campos Gerais region
 

Paraná, July 6, 2021 – As part of its ongoing efforts to care for and assist local communities, Klabin completed last week the renovation and relocation begun in May of the Pharmacy that stores medical supplies and vaccines for the municipalities of the 21st Health Region. On June 4, it also donated 10 new respirators. The initiatives made it possible to open three new ICU beds at the Regional Hospital in June, which is a critical period for hospitalizations, ensured expansion of ICU treatment in the region and helped to improve the infrastructure of the local Pharmacy, which safeguards important inputs, such as vaccines and medicines, that require special storage systems.
 

“The 21st Heath Region thanks Klabin and all its employees, which measured no forces in helping the local population with all the donations it has made in the region. Because of these donations, many patients have received better treatment and did not go without proper healthcare. Furthermore, thanks to the rapid renovation and relocation of the Pharmacy for the 21st Health Region, today it boasts excellent infrastructure and is better located to serve the public,” said Cleverton Soares, director of the 21st Health Region.
 

Since the onset of the pandemic, Klabin has carried out actions to reinforce its responsibility and commitment, acting as part of an important group of forces working in partnership with the public sector to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Key support measures include delivering of the Regional Campaign Hospital, donating respirators, Covid-19 tests, chemical inputs for sanitizing and bottles of hand sanitizer, hiring health professionals and covering the costs of ICU beds at Instituto Dr. Feitosa.
