Ortigueira Technical School opens 2026 enrollment with free housing offered
Each course will provide 35 tuition-free seats, open to students who have completed either elementary or high school education; applications are open until October 15
The school has the highest Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) among the schools in the Telêmaco Borba Regional Education Center
Paraná, October 8, 2025 – The State Center for Vocational and Agricultural Education of Ortigueira (CEEP), maintained by the State Department of Education in partnership with Klabin and supported by the Ortigueira Municipal Government, is now accepting applications for apprenticeship courses in Agribusiness Technical Studies, Heavy Machinery Maintenance, Environmental Studies, Forestry Machinery Operations, and Occupational Safety. All programs are designed for students who have completed elementary or high school education. Applications are open until October 15, and enrollment is free of charge; however, spaces are limited, with only 35 openings available per class. Classes will start in February 2026.
The courses offered are divided into two categories:
- High School Technical Program: courses in Agribusiness (full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:10 p.m.), Heavy Machinery Maintenance (full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:10 p.m.), and Environmental Studies (morning, Monday to Friday, 7:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), each with a duration of three years. Interested parties must have completed elementary school.
- Post-high School Technical Courses: Forestry Machinery Operations, Heavy Machinery Maintenance, and Occupational Safety (applicants must be at least 18 years old). The duration is one and a half years, with classes held in the evening from Monday to Friday, between 6:45 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. Interested parties must have completed high school.
For full-time programs, the Ortigueira Technical School provides free housing for students under the age of 16.
"The Ortigueira Technical School trains professionals in fields that are in high demand for employment, not only by Klabin but also by numerous other companies in the industry. It is practical proof of how technical education can promote professional development and generate wealth for the community as a whole,” reinforces Uilson Paiva, Social Responsibility and Community Relations Manager at Klabin.
According to Sueli Martins, head of the Regional Education Center in Telêmaco Borba, the school's structure and the courses it offers provide a comprehensive education that prepares young people to enter the workforce. "Over the past five years, the Ortigueira Technical School has become a leading example, providing access to vocational training for students interested in entering companies operating in the region. This provides students in the region with the opportunity to prepare themselves to work in various sectors of the economy," she emphasizes
How to apply
Before completing the pre-registration, interested individuals must visit the website www.areadoaluno.seed.pr.gov.br to create an account on the Paraná State Department of Education platform and select the course they intend to take at the State Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training Center of Ortigueira. After completing this step, they must fill out the pre-registration form available through the Ortigueira Technical School's social media channels (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf25HR7ed6qniM61SQbYaL6g3WrH0Z8EF9HdhPEjoLT97cnuA/viewform).
After filling it out, the student must contact the institution by phone at (42) 99133-2711 to schedule an interview. On the scheduled day, they will need to bring the following required documents: the student's ID (RG) and CPF, as well as those of the legal guardian (if the student is a minor); birth or marriage certificate; SUS card; proof of residence (such as electricity or water bills); updated vaccination record; school transcript; enrollment declaration; report card; and proof of benefits from federal programs such as Bolsa Família.
About the State Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training Center of Ortigueira
The Ortigueira Technical School, as it is known in the region, has a comprehensive facility that includes classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a workshop, an industrial kitchen, a cafeteria, a multi-sport court, and a leisure area. The facility can accommodate up to 800 students and offers exclusive housing for those enrolled in full-time programs. The institution receives federal, state and private funds for its operation.
Since its inauguration in 2020, the CEEP in Ortigueira has received R$35 million in investments from Klabin and the State Government, and has graduated over 400 young people during this time. Of these, 55% were hired by Klabin, and 75% of them are still employed by the Company. Currently, 90% of the students enrolled are from Ortigueira, and women account for 51% of the institution’s enrollment. The school holds the highest Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) within the Telêmaco Borba Regional Education Center.
