Ortigueira Technical School celebrates over 400 graduates
With the graduation of 74 more students at a ceremony held on August 1, the institution has now reached a total of 420 graduates since the program began in 2020
Paraná, August 12, 2025 – The State Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training
Center of Ortigueira (CEEP), a pioneering initiative by Klabin in partnership with the
state government of Paraná and supported by the Ortigueira municipal government,
has just surpassed the milestone of 400 graduates in its five-year history. On August 1,
2025, 74 students received diplomas in the technical programs of Forest Machinery
Operation and Heavy Machinery Maintenance. The graduation ceremony was attended
by representatives of the Regional Education Center of Telêmaco Borba.
With this graduating class, the municipality's technical school has now trained 420
skilled professionals since 2020, preparing them for employment opportunities. Klabin,
for instance, has hired more than half of the young graduates from CEEP. The
ceremony brought together students, their families, public officials, and Klabin staff at
the city’s Sports Gymnasium.
“The technical school in Ortigueira plays a vital role by training and developing the local
workforce. This enables employment and income for hundreds of professionals, while
contributing to the economic development of several municipalities in the region,” said
Uilson Paiva, Community Relations Manager at Klabin.
Inaugurated in 2020 and inspired by model schools in Sweden and Finland, the State
Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training Center of Ortigueira aims to become a
leading institution in the training of forestry operators and mechanics.
The school has a comprehensive infrastructure, including classrooms, fully-equipped
laboratories, simulators, a library, restrooms, an industrial kitchen, a cafeteria, a multi-
sport court, and recreational areas. With the capacity to accommodate up to 800
students, it also offers on-campus lodging. The school receives funds from the state
government and Klabin to maintain its physical, human and pedagogical upkeep.
