The Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program conducts teacher training in Conde (BA)

Project aims to train teachers on environmental-related topics and make students agents of knowledge dissemination

São Paulo, June 23, 2025 – The Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program has just arrived in the city of Conde, in Bahia, to contribute to the training of public municipal school teachers. The objective is to prepare professionals to promote educational activities with their students to disseminate knowledge and encourage sustainable practices starting in childhood.

The program was introduced to the city in Bahia through a partnership between Klabin, Brazil's largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions in paper packaging, and Vita Coco, the leading coconut water brand in the USA. The initiative aims to develop an environmental education program focused on themes relevant to the municipality and the surrounding region. The training was conducted at the Frysk Industrial plant.

"We believe in education to form more conscious citizens. The Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program consolidates the Company's efforts in favor of environmental education, and bringing it to the municipality together with Vita Coco, a major partner of our Company, is an opportunity to contribute to the sustainable development of the region,” highlights Júlio Nogueira, Sustainability and Environment Corporate Manager at Klabin.

The Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program is divided into three stages: training, development, and environmental exhibition. In the first stage, specialists share their knowledge with educators and provide guidance on the best way to address the topic with the students, in theory and practice. In the second stage, teachers address the topic in the classroom and put the projects into practice with the students. And in the third stage, students share with the community what they have learned through an environmental exhibition. In this manner, children and youth become true agents of dissemination of good environmental practices.

With the topic “Water security and protection of natural resources,” the first meeting in the municipality of Conde was held on June 10, at the Frysk Industrial plant, with the participation of 15 schools and 44 teachers, positively impacting over 2,000 students.

The training included social and environmental topics, with the participation of Projeto Tamar and the Instituto Mamíferos Aquáticos, which brought practices and ideas for teachers to use in the classroom, focusing on the preservation of water resources and the protection of turtles and marine animals.

About the Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program

The Klabin Transforms Caiubi Program was created in 2001, in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná; its objective is to offer teachers theoretical and practical knowledge about environmental education for use in the classroom. For 18 years the program was carried out only in municipalities of Paraná and Santa Catarina; then, in 2019, Klabin took the project to Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Bahia. To date, the project has involved over seven thousand educators in the training processes, benefiting nearly 530,000 Brazilian students since its inception.
