New graduates from Ortigueira Technical School

Paraná, December 18, 2024 – Another 79 students from Ortigueira Technical School have received their diplomas in the technical courses of Forest Machinery Operation, Heavy Machinery Maintenance, and Agribusiness, and are now prepared to enter the job market. Last Tuesday, December 17, the State Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training Center of Ortigueira, a pioneering project by Klabin in partnership with the government of the State of Paraná and the municipal government of Ortigueira, held another graduation ceremony. The event gathered students, family members, public officials, and company employees at the municipal Sports Gymnasium.

In all, the Ortigueira technical school has already graduated more than 300 students, 104 of them this year alone. Of this total number, more than 50% were hired by Klabin or other companies, reinforcing the commitment to promoting education and opportunity in the job market.

"With each graduation ceremony, we achieve the primary goal of the technical school: to offer opportunities for training and development to the local and regional workforce. The technicians who graduate ensure access to the job market and are sought after by Klabin and other companies," says Uilson Paiva, Community Relations manager at Klabin.

Inaugurated in 2020 inspired by model schools in Sweden and Finland, the State Forestry and Agriculture Vocational Training Center of Ortigueira aims to become a leading institution in the training of forestry operators and mechanics.
"It is crucial for the region to have young individuals who are well-prepared for the workforce. Today, the technical school stands as a prime example of how opportunities can lead to a promising future," says Sueli Aparecida Martins, head of the Regional Education Center of Telêmaco Borba.
