Klabin conducts maintenance shutdown at Correia Pinto unit
Maintenance will be carried out between August 26 and September 4 and
should attract about 1,300 workers
Santa Catarina, August 21 2024 – Starting on August 26, Klabin will conduct the 2024 maintenance shutdown at its Correia Pinto unit, in Santa Catarina. The shutdown aims to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of equipment at the unit, improve the quality of the company's production process and increase the safety of employees and the community.
During the 10 days, until September 4, about 80 companies and 1,300 hired workers will be involved in the maintenance work. The number of workers demands logistics and infrastructure that help boost the economy of Correia Pinto and the surrounding region.
"The maintenance shutdown requires an extensive preliminary planning to ensure that all stages of maintenance are carried out quickly and efficiently. Health and safety protocols are strictly followed, ensuring the protection of our employees and contractors during the work routine," said Alexsandro Evaristo, industrial manager of the Correia Pinto unit.
The maintenance shutdown is an event mandated by Regulatory Standard NR13 for companies working with pressure vessels, such as boilers and digesters. Performing a maintenance shutdown is a legal obligation that ensures the integrity and safety of the operations and people who work at Klabin, as well as of the communities where the company operates.
One of Klabin's main concerns in the period, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, is to keep the community involved and informed about the general shutdown, so that everyone feels safe about the changes in the city and ready for the potential opportunities linked to the reception of these workers.
If you have any questions, complaints or suggestions about the shutdown, you can call 0800 721 0228.
