EXPRESSÃO DE ECOLOGIA AWARD
Klabin was once again among the winners of the Expressão de Ecologia Award. We have so far won 18 awards, which makes Klabin one of the biggest winners in the history of the awards. This year, we won the award for the Nature Interpretation Center inaugurated at the Natural Heritage Private Reserve (RPPN) Serra da Farofa Complex in Santa Catarina, the Solid Waste Program in Paraná and the Forest Management Certification for Wood Suppliers Program in Santa Catarina. The Expressão de Ecologia Award was instituted in 1993 by Editora Expressão to honor companies, NGOs, municipal governments and entities in Brazil’s Southern region.
Three of our pulp products (PineCel, LyptusCel and PineFluff) manufactured at the Puma Unit in Paraná received the ecologic label from European Ecolabel, which recognizes products and services that adopt high environmental standards throughout their life cycle (from extraction of raw material to disposal). To join this list, we underwent an audit process that assessed our commitment to sustainability based on criteria such as responsible forest stewardship, energy efficiency, use of approved chemicals, responsible water consumption and contribution to a circular economy.
Our Investor Relations (IR) team was elected the best in Latin America in the Pulp and Paper sector, according to the 2020 ranking of the Institutional Investor Magazine, one of the world’s premier financial publications. In the same ranking, Felipe Saraiva, a consultant in the area, ranked first in the Best IR Professional category. These honors reflect the opinion of 604 investment professionals in 308 financial services companies in Brazil and abroad, who participated in the annual survey.
Klabin was the winner in the “Innovation in Packaging” category at the 11th PPI Awards, organized by Fastmarkets RISI, for its case on the technology behind Eukaliner®. This is one of the most important honors in the global pulp and paper industry and this achievement shows Klabin’s innovation in launching a kraftliner paper produced exclusively from eucalyptus fiber, a first-of-its-kind product in the world.
Klabin is in the “A List” of CDP, the global information platform for investors – in three programs: Climate, Water and Forests, underscoring the company’s responsible operation. Besides being the first company in Latin America to achieve the leadership level in the three questionnaires, Klabin had the best performance in the “CDP Brazil – Climate Resilience Index”, which measures the performance in special climate management practices and establishes a relation between environmental initiatives and the financial performance of organizations.
For the sixth consecutive year, Klabin was elected by Corporate Reputation Monitor (Merco) as the company with the best reputation in Brazil’s Wood, Pulp and Paper sector. Since the launch of the ranking in 2013, we have been leaders in our segment and are among the 100 best reputed companies in Brazil, ranking 74th. The survey heard over 3,000 consumers, as well as 370 executive officers of companies and 500 market specialists, including representatives from different areas.
BEST OF AGRIBUSINESS
Klabin took first place in the categories Reforestation, Pulp & Paper and Sustainability in the “Best of Agribusiness” yearbook. Sponsored by Globo Rural magazine and now in its 15th edition, the awards evaluate the performance and management of agribusiness companies. Klabin’s robust environmental management model has proven essential for enabling it to attain important results, whose initiatives included expanding renewable sources in its energy profile and reducing total water consumption and total CO2 emissions.
Klabin garnered the national trophy in the Events category of the 45th Aberje Awards sponsored by the Brazilian Association for Business Communication, which recognizes the best communication practices of companies nationwide. The winning case told the history of Inova Klabin, an engaging event held in São Paulo to position Klabin as a reference in innovation and sustainability. Klabin also won the regional award in the category Consumer/Clients in the São Paulo State Aberje Awards for the case Much More than Just Packaging. The campaign to reposition the brand of the Packaging Business highlighted the attributes of each product and gave a whole new meaning to the way in which Klabin relates with its clients.
Exame Sustainability Guide
Klabin was ranked first among Pulp and Paper companies in the Exame Sustainability Guide. The award is a recognition of the sustainable development initiatives that the company employs in all areas of operation. It is organized by the Exame magazine to honor companies for their best sustainability practices.
500 Biggest of the South Award – Amanhã Group
Klabin stood out in three categories in the 500 Biggest of the South 2019 ranking published by Amanhã magazine. The Company won the Net Revenue category in the Pulp and Paper industry. It also ranked third in the 100 Best Companies in Paraná ranking and eighth in the 500 Biggest of the South ranking. The Amanhã Group recognizes leading companies in Brazil’s Southern region based on an evaluation of six indicators: return on equity, return on revenue, revenue growth, working capital, current ratio, lowest debt, and net income.

Klabin’s corporate counsel team was selected by the Brazilian issue of The Legal 500 ranking, which recognizes professionals who are driving legal affairs. The ranking identifies the 100 most influential and innovative internal teams of lawyers in the country.
Paraná Climate Seal
Four Klabin units in Paraná obtained the Paraná Climate Seal, which recognizes companies that quantify their greenhouse gas emissions. The Rio Negro and Paranaguá Units obtained the Paraná Climate Seal – Gold, while the Monte Alegre and Puma Units received the Paraná Climate Seal – Gold Plus for reducing emissions by over 0.5% in relation to the previous year.

Klabin ranked first among Pulp and Paper companies in the “Sustainability” category in the 2019 edition of the Época Negócios 360o Yearbook. It was also featured prominently in four other categories of the survey that selected the best Brazilian companies in 2019: innovation, corporate governance, people and vision of the future.

We were once again honored with the Industry Highlights Awards given by the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP).This year, we won in the following categories: Packaging Paper Manufacturer, Innovation (R&D Technology), Social Responsibility and Sustainability.
SESI SEAL SDG
For the third consecutive year, Klabin won the Sesi SDG Seal, which recognizes institutions that strive to promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company had submitted the programs “Certification of small producers (SLIMF)" and “Legal Woods,” which aims to preserve the environment and foster social and economic development of communities surrounding its operations.
SPOTT TIMBER & PULP
We were ranked second in the global ranking on transparency in the wood and pulp industry announced by the international organization Spott Timber & Pulp. The English platform evaluates the best environmental, social and corporate governance practices of companies in this sector. This is the third time that our efforts to foster sustainable development are recognized by the international organization.
EXPRESSÃO DE ECOLOGIA AWARDS
Klabin was one of the winners at the 26th Expressão de Ecologia Awards. This is the 15th award won by the Company in the history of these awards, which retains Klabin's position as one of the greatest winners of the award. This year, we won the award in the Solid Waste category for the Waste Processing Center case. Created in 1993 by Editora Expressão, the award has so far received submissions of over 2,700 cases from leading companies, NGOs, local governments and entities in Southern Brazil.
For the first time, Klabin received has the gold medal in the sustainability management survey held by EcoVadis, which conducts the Corporate Social Responsibility Assessment (SER). The survey places the company in the group of 2% of the best performing companies in the pulp and paper sector around the world. The survey considers four criteria: environment, human rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing. This honor underlines the company's efforts to minimize environmental impacts, promote community development and care for its employees.
For the fifth straight year, Klabin was featured in the ranking as the highest-scoring company in the Wood, Pulp and Paper industry. Merco, considered a global reference in monitoring reputation, recognizes companies with the best corporate reputations. Launched 19 years ago with an unprecedented evaluation methodology, the ranking is compiled and published in 12 countries: Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama and Portugal. The ranking also is the world’s first audited monitoring with independent review by the audit firm KPMG, which publishes an audit report for each edition.
Klabin was featured among 22 Brazilian companies considered the most “humanized” for their responsible practices. More than 1,000 companies were evaluated based on the opinions of their employees, clients, suppliers, investors and partner organizations. The survey compiled case studies of successful Brazilian companies that have managed to keep their purpose and passion aligned with market and business targets. The attributes of Klabin highlighted by respondents included ethics, sustainability, environmental awareness, innovation, safety and social responsibility. The study also analyzed the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Code and Sustainability Policy of the company and mapped the good practices and initiatives it has implemented nationally for developing people and communities in the regions where it operates.
Klabin is one of the 50 highest rated companies in the ranking of the “Most Loved Companies – Professionals’ Choice” of the website Love Mondays, a platform that compiles ratings on the workplaces of companies operating in Brazil. The list compiles thousands of opinions from professionals at over 170,000 companies in Brazil that considered corporate culture, compensation and benefits, quality of life and career opportunities as predetermined criteria. Of those, Klabin stood out especially in the first two criteria, in which it reached a 90% approval rating from its employees, who said they would recommend the company to a friend.
For the first time, Klabin has won the Graphprint Award. We received the trophy at the 18th edition of the awards in the Paperboard category.
CARBON DISCLOSURE PROJECT (CDP)
For the first time, the company figured on the A Lists of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in its Water Management, Climate Change and Supply Chain programs. With this recognition, Klabin figures among companies highlighted by the organization as leaders in the transition to the new sustainable economy. A company’s progress is categorized as follows: information disclosure (D- and D), awareness (C- and C), management (B- and B) and leadership (A- and A). CDP is an international non-profit organization that analyzes and recognizes the efforts of companies around the world in managing the environmental impacts of their operations. In 2018, the evaluation methodology involved 650 investors holding more than US$87 trillion in assets.
Meanwhile, for the sixth straight year, Klabin was included in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) published by the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3). The ISE’s goal is to create an investment environment compatible with the demands of sustainable development and to encourage ethical responsibility through the good business practices of eligible companies. The indicators for the company’s performance that led to its inclusion in the ISE’s 2019 portfolio include Engagement with Stakeholders, Environmental Commitments, Consumption of Natural Resources, Customer Relations, Resolution of Customer Demands and Commitment to the Community. The criteria are defined by the School of Economics and Business Administration (EAESP-FGV) of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and Klabin will be a component of the portfolio until January 2020.

In a ranking published in July, Klabin figured for the second time in an excellent position in Spott Timber & Pulp, which evaluates the public information on policies, operations and commitments of the world’s 50 top wood and pulp producers worldwide based on best environmental, social and governance practices. Klabin placed third in the global list for the industry, attesting to the solidity and transparency of its sustainability practices.
Also in 2018, Vigeo Eires, a leading global provider of surveys and services in the environmental, social and governance areas that evaluates corporate performance in developing markets based on numerous criteria in six areas (Environment, Human Rights, Human Resources, Community Involvement, Business Behavior and Corporate Governance) recognized Klabin as a highlight for its initiatives in these area.

Klabin was the big winner in the Industry Highlights Award 2018 sponsored by the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP), garnering awards in five categories: Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Innovation (R&D and Technology) and Packaging Paper Manufacturers. Klabin was once again among the winners of the Transparency Trophy given by the National Association of Finance, Administration and Accounting Executives (ANEFAC) – the Oscars of accounting in Brazil. Klabin was named an exporter highlight from among the largest companies in Brazil's South in the Pulp & Paper segment, in the Sul for Export 2018 ranking compiled by Grupo Amanhã. The results are based on the official indicators of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
BRAZIL'S MOST ADMIRED HR TEAMS
Klabin was highlighted from among Brazil's most admired HR teams for its Human Resources Management, which the company calls People & Management, and was a finalist in the "Top 10" category. The award, which is sponsored by Grupo Gestão RH, recognizes the work of the HR professionals and of the entire company on the topic.

Klabin was named Best of the Year - Paraná 2017/18 by the newspaper Diário Indústria & Comércio. The award evaluates approximately 200 companies in various regional market segments and recognizes those with the best performances of the year.

Klabin won two accolades in the 25th edition of the Expressão Ecologia Awards. The largest and most traditional sustainable development award in Brazil's South recognized the company's efforts to maintain its forest mosaics in Santa Catarina state and highlighted the family farming project in Paraná state.
ITAJAÍ SOCIAL SEAL 2018
Klabin was awarded the Social Seal 2017 from the municipal government of Itajaí in Santa Catarina state and garnered the Highlight Award for its industrial waste recycling project in the city. With five cases submitted to the awards, the Unit received seven social seals and had an opportunity to showcase its actions targeting the local community, its employees and the preservation of natural resources. The municipal government's program recognizes companies that develop social and environmental projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ENGINEERS CLUB OF RIO DE JANEIRO
Klabin was honored by the Engineers Club of Rio de Janeiro for its contribution to the development of the country. The honor was conferred at a ceremony held at the Club’s headquarters in which management and members of the Club as well as professionals from diverse sectors of business and industry participated. Established in 1880, the Engineers Club of Rio de Janeiro is a forum for discussions related to the progress of engineering in Brazil and the technical skills of engineers.
LATIN FINANCE – DEALS OF THE YEAR AWARD
The issue of green bonds by Klabin was recognized at the Deals of the Year Award, one of the most important awards in the financial markets. The company was the winner in the Corporate High-Yield of the Year category. The award recognizes transactions and institutions in capital markets across Latin America and the Caribbean, in 28 categories.

For the third straight year, Klabin received the Top Employers certification. The seal recognizes each year companies that invest in initiatives in the areas of human resources and people management. To award the seal, the Top Employers Institute evaluates, using an audited survey, the best human resources practices at each company.

Klabin received the Social and Environmental Management certificate from the Environment Foundation (Fatmad) of the Santa Catarina state government for the Caiubi Social Program. For the 19th straight year, Klabin won the José Paschoal Baggio Entrepreneur Award. Created in 1999 by the newspaper Correio Lageano, the award honors and recognizes the top 50 companies in the state of Santa Catarina in terms of the highest return of state VAT tax (ICMS) and that are concerned with the region’s economic and human development.

Klabin has received for the third time the “Best in Agribusiness” award from the Globo Rural magazine in the Reforestation, Pulp and Paper category. The award, instituted by the magazine in partnership with Serasa Experian, honors companies from different segments in the agribusiness based on their financial results from sustainability initiatives.

Klabin was awarded the “Oscar of Accounting” - as the Transparency Award is known in the market - for the quality, clarity and objectivity of the information presented in the company’s financial statements. Klabin was elected the Best Company in the Pulp and Paper Industry in the 17th edition of Valor 1000, the respected annual publication by newspaper Valor Econômico. The award recognizes the Brazilian companies that most stood out in 25 industries and also brings a ranking with the 1,000 largest companies in Brazil. The awarding ceremony was held in São Paulo, SP, in August.
KLABIN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - CONARH
Klabin received the “Prêmio Ser Humano Oswaldo Checchia 2017” award for the Leadership Program implemented by the People & Management department of the Monte Alegre Unit, at the 43rd edition of the National People Management Congress (CONARH), held in São Paulo. Implemented in 2015, the program, which is structured based on actions such as group training, individual coaching and professional mapping, competed with other important cases in people management and came second in the overall ranking. CONARH recognizes good business practices aimed at the development and appreciation of people in the work environment.

Klabin received the Industry Leadership award from the Itajaí Business Association (ACII) for its consolidated position in the pulp and paper market and its relevance in the city’s economy. In its 28th edition, apart from the Industry Leadership category, the award was given in eight other categories: Woman Entrepreneur, Leadership in Management, Young Entrepreneur, Leadership in Trade, Leadership in Services, Leadership in Social Responsibility, Leadership in Public Service and Leadership in the Non-Profit Sector.
LINKEDIN TOP COMPANIES 2017
Klabin figured in the ranking LinkedIn Top Companies 2017 for the second straight year. The list identifies the 25 companies most searched by professionals in Brazil using data exclusively from LinkedIn, based on the actions of employees and professionals looking for job opportunities on the platform. This year, Klabin, which improved its ranking in the general classification compared to 2016, was the only pulp and paper company in the ranking and the highest ranked B2B on the list.
Klabin received, for the second straight year, the certification Top Employers Brasil 2016, which each year recognizes a select group of companies that demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in people management. To award the seal, the Top Employers Institute evaluates, using an audited survey, the best human resources practices of each company. The criteria analyzed include strategy, policy implementation and monitoring and communication of career conditions and advancement.
CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY INDEX (ISE)
For the fourth straight year, Klabin was included in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&FBOVESPA). The ISE’sgoal is to create an investment environment compatible with the demands of sustainable development and to encourage ethical responsibility through the good business practices of companies eligible for the index. Klabin conducts intense actions in all areas on which the ISE selection criteria are based. Supported by annual actions plans, it continualy improves its performance in the dimensions evaluated, such as corporate sustainability, social-environmental balance, climate change, economic efficiency and governance.
PSYCHOLOGICALLY HEALTHY COMPANIES 2016 AWARDS – HR MANAGEMENT
Klabin was recognized, for the second consecutive year, as one of the "Top 10" companies at the Psychologically Healthy Companies 2016 Awards. The initiative aims to value healthy wellbeing practices in the corporate environment, in addition to investments in employee education and training. The Awards are based on a survey conducted among some of the largest companies in Brazil. Klabin was elected the representative from the Sustainable Category at the 19th Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, organized by consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY). The company also received honorable mention at the event for its social and environmental initiatives and sustainable practices. Klabin's vision of sustainability and its social and environmental strategies were the focus of a case study submitted by the company to compete for the award. In this regard, the local empowerment and development programs of the regions impacted by Klabin’s operations gained the spotlight, such as the Puma Project, which was designed right from the start from a sustainable perspective.

Klabin was elected the "Leader in Pulp, Paper, and Cardboard" at the Leaders of Brazil Awards. The Awards, organized by the Business Leaders Group (Lide), recognize companies, entrepreneurs and authorities in the main sectors of the Brazilian economy for their entrepreneurship, competence and commitment to creating a better and more competitive Brazil. The 6th edition of the Awards had 48 winners, chosen by an official jury, and outstanding contributions during the year were honored.

Klabin was the big winner at the Outstanding Company in the Sector 2016 awards of the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP) in the Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Packaging Paper Manufacturer categories. In the last category, the company was recognized for the eighth consecutive year. The ABTCP award honors the best companies in each segment of the pulp and paper industry.
CARBON DISCLOSURE PROJECT 2016
Klabin was ranked at the Leadership level in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in its annual results for Climate Change and Forests, achieving an A- score, which characterizes the best practices in the platform and indicates that the company has implemented a series of actions to manage climate change in own and third-party operations. In the Water category, the company attained "Management" status with a score of "B". CDP is an international non-profit organization that analyzes and recognizes the efforts of companies around the world to manage the environmental impacts of their operations.

For the fifth consecutive year, Klabin was elected the most admired company in Brazil in the Pulp and Paper category, in a survey conducted by Officina Sophia, a market research company. The survey, in its 18th annual edition, is conducted through interviews with more than 1,100 executives, who assess and score companies from diverse sectors that delivered outstanding performance during the year. The assessment takes into consideration criteria such as Responsibility towards the Environment and the Community, Management Quality, Innovation, Ethics and Sustainable Development, among others.

The Klabin Leadership Program at the Monte Alegre Unit (Paraná) won the award for People Management in the Companies category at the 6th edition of the Human Being Awards 2016, organized by the Brazilian Human Resources Association - Paraná Chapter (ABRH-PR). A panel consisting of 18 professionals evaluated the projects and the winners obtained the highest scores in the criteria: current relevance of the issue, degree of innovation, quality of content and applicability.

Klabin was recognized by the Capital Market Professionals and Investors Association (Apimec) with the Platina Award 2016 for 15 straight years of presentations at Apimec São Paulo. Klabin was honored with the Reference Award for the commissioning of its Puma Unit. The award highlights the project’s importance to the state of Paraná by creating jobs and boosting tax receipts. For the 18th straight year, Klabin has won the José Paschoal Baggio Entrepreneur Award. Klabin was elect the most sustainable company of the year in the pulp and paper industry by the Exame Sustainably Guide 2016. Applying the methodology developed by the Center for Sustainability Studies of Fundação Getulio Vargas (GVces), the Guide is one of the most important publications on sustainability in the market. The 17th edition of the Guide received applications from 190 companies, of which 69 were selected in 19 industries. This recognition reinforces Klabin’s commitment to realizing projects and implementing processes to ensure sustainable business practices for the communities surrounding its operations, its investors, employees and other stakeholders.

Klabin was honored at the 23 rd edition of the Expressão Ecologia Awards held in Santa Catarina, for its Natural Heritage Private State Reserve (RPPNE) - Serra da Farofa Complex project. The conservation unit is maintained by the company in partnership with the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc), which conducts scientific studies that help protect and maintain biodiversity and water resources. The work carried out at the Serra da Farofa Complex has already identified almost 600 plant species and 75 wildlife species.

ANEFAC TRANSPARENCY AWARD
Based on the quality, clarity and objectiveness of the information in its financial statements, the Brazilian National Association of Finance, Administration and Accounting Executives (Anefac), in partnership with the Accounting, Actuarial and Financial Research Institute Foundation (Fipecafi) and Serasa Experian, recognized Klabin with the Transparency Award in the category "Companies with Net Revenue over R$5 billion." In its 20th edition, the awards evaluated 100% of the companies who publicly report their accounting statements based on the evaluation of a commission formed by students pursuing master's degrees and doctorates at the University of São Paulo (USP). Klabin was awarded, for the second straight year, the Paraná Climate Seal in the Gold category. Klabin received the Paraná Climate Seal in the Gold category, which recognizes companies that formulate and publish inventories of their greenhouse gas emissions. The seal, launched by the State Department of Environment and Water Resources together with the Federation of Industries of Paraná (FIEP) is a public registry that companies operating in the state of Paraná can voluntarily join.
ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE REPORT 2015 - WWF
Klabin has participated for the second time in the Environmental Paper Company Index (EPCI), held every two years by WWF. The Company registered excellent performance in the survey, achieving a total score of 82%, up 7.5% from the overall score it obtained in the previous study published in 2013. The report evaluated the performance of 80 paper companies in countries across Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa in the following categories: newspapers, printing paper, tissue, pulp and packaging.

For the third consecutive year, Klabin was the highlight of the pulp and paper industry in the Southern Brazil region. The company also ranked 3rd in Paraná's regional company ranking. Klabin was recognized as the company with the Best Practice of Natural Capital Management by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The unprecedented initiative combined the experiences related to Water Resource Management, Use of Internal Carbon Price and Natural Capital Management of the 20 companies with the highest scores based on the CDP's evaluation methodology. The selection was made by a judging panel formed by members of the CDP's Technical Advisory Board. The group was formed by representatives of investors, experts, trade associations, business organizations and academia.
