Klabin’s sustainability practices recognized in global transparency ranking

The company ranked first in the pulp and paper industry in the list of SPOTT, a global platform that assesses the best environmental, social and governance practices of large companies

São Paulo, September 18, 2020 – Klabin, Brazil’s largest producer and exporter of packaging paper,
was listed for the fourth straight year in the global transparency ranking published by SPOTT, a
British platform that supports the production and sale sustainable commodities.

The company ranked first among pulp and paper companies in the SPOTT Timber and Pulp list, which
evaluated the public information of 100 wood and pulp producers on their policies, operations and
commitments related to the environmental, social and governance best practices.

The Company scored 74.2% and remains among the top five in the overall ranking. The ranking
analyzes more than 151 ESG indicators (environment, social and governance best practices) in 10
categories. Every year, SPOTT publishes reports evaluating the best global corporate practices based
on the public information reported by wood and pulp producers.
