Klabin implements actions to fight coronavirus in Lages

Lages, May 21, 2020 – To help in the fight against COVID-19, Klabin has allocated various resources to actions focused on health and welfare, mainly in the regions where it has operations.

Last week, it donated to the Lages Municipal Health Fund around 60,000 PPE items and bottles of hand sanitizer, which will be distributed to local hospitals, as well as 100 antibacterial coveralls. Early this month, another 60,000 PPE items had been delivered to the Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Hospital. Klabin also assisted in the purchase of hygiene and protection items, as well as hospital equipment for the Lages Intermunicipal Health Consortium, which is responsible for setting up a Screening Center in the city.

Over the coming days, the Company plans to donate 200 basic food baskets to social entities and 1,000 paper bags, which will be used to pack food kits to be distributed to poor communities. The company will also donate 10 kg of materials to the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) to produce acetate face shields.

In Santa Catarina, Klabin has implemented several actions to contain the spread of the pandemic. Initiatives in the state include the donation of health, hygiene and PPE items, corrugated board packaging, paper bags and basic food baskets, as well as funds for the acquisition of hospital equipment.
